Version 0.9.8 Beta (11 July 2007)
- Unique identifier is now generated using the machine's hardware (network MAC addresses). This ensures that the same unique ID is consistently generated for a system after a re-format, re-installation of operating system or after using partition imaging tools.
Version 0.9.7 Beta (27 Apr 2007)
- Improved compatibility with Windows Vista.
- Reduced the size of the binaries and installer program WeAreON_setup.exe.
- Fixed an issue installing and starting the service in clients with more than 100 user accounts.
Version 0.9.6 Beta (12 Mar 2007)
- System administrators can set the machine's description, listed in the main Systems List of the website http://www.weareon.com.
- Users without administrative privileges can run the WeAreON Control Panel with limited functionality. The Identification tab (where the user name, password and description are set) is available only to administrators.
- Fixed an issue in some machines subject to very frequent changes of external IP address. This was making the client go offline until the service was restarted.
Version 0.9.5 Beta (4 Mar 2007)
- No new functionality or fixes. This release just advances the version number, to force all 0.9.4 machines to make an automatic update for testing purposes.
Version 0.9.4 Beta (4 Mar 2007)
- The WeAreON client is now capable of updating itself as directed by the hosts, downloading and installing a new version.
- The program now writes a log file, in which entries are filtered by their severity. The severity threshold is read from the Windows Registry, and can be changed to obtain extended, more verbose information.
- Fixed a memory leak that occurred on every connection to the hosts.
- Fixed an issue that caused 100% CPU usage during connection under certain circumstances. Now the memory and CPU usage footprints are smaller and constant.
Version 0.9.3 Beta (4 Feb 2007)
- First implementation of Security Model. The application allows users to enter their user name and password to claim ownership of the system's data record.
- Installer program can detect previous installation. It will stop the service and terminate all instances of the Control Panel before upgrading.
